I haven't discovered whether there is a reasonable middle ground for images that are destined for the web, but for my print work my normal resolution is 6000圆000 which seems out of limits for Rebelle. With A3 sized images, it crashes frequently and images are not recoverable after the crash. With tiny 500x500 sized images, I don't experience any issues. Unfortunately it is not stable with normal or large sized images. The UI never gets out of the way to the same extent as procreate does, but it seems like the extra effort that Rebelle requires is worth it as the results are better. Rebelle creates images with an even more natural feel than procreate. I liked procreate for the natural feel of its brushes and the fact that the UI is very intuitive - gets out of the way. Rebelle is stable and a joy to use with tiny images. Rebelle on the Surface Pro X with 8GB Ram The OS/Apps don't seem to use the hardware that well as they are emulated and there are lots of compatibility issues. In practice neither of these turn out to be real advantages at the moment. It has a better hardware spec and the prospect of a bigger app ecosystem.
On paper, the Surface Pro X is a perfect replacement. I choose a Surface Prox X as replacement for the Ipad Pro as I experienced too many reliability issues with the Ipad Pro. I was a long term Procreate/Ipad Pro user. The Surface Pro X is Microsoft's new ARM based windows tablet.
